The Department of Obstetrics at St. Antonius Hospital in Gronau invites expectant parents to regular delivery room tours. These
take place on the first and third Tuesday evenings of every month and offer the opportunity to learn in detail about the birthing process,
the facilities, and the personalized care options available on-site. The obstetrics
team is particularly proud of the newly redesigned delivery rooms, which were completely renovated and reopened in September.
In a warm, family-friendly atmosphere and with modern equipment, great emphasis is placed here on a self-directed and safe birth.
The facilities include, among other things:
The tours are led by Chief Physician Frauke Sonntag or Senior Physician Senait Berhane, along with the midwife on duty.
In addition to the delivery room, they also introduce the ward where mother and child are cared for together after birth. The
tour also includes an introduction to the various options for gentle pain management, such as nitrous oxide or a TENS device, which generates electrical impulses.
For expectant parents in Gronau and the surrounding area, the obstetrics department at St. Antonius Hospital thus offers not only highly qualified medical
care but also a trusting and personal environment—close, compassionate, and competent. Advance
registration is required for the delivery room tour. It takes place every first and third Tuesday of the month starting at 7:00 p.m.
