Welcome to the Department of Obstetrics. We’d like to take this opportunity to show you our delivery room and provide some other important
information for you as expectant parents and anyone interested.
The Obstetrics Team As a perinatal center, we care for you throughout all stages of pregnancy and are, of course, here for you during childbirth and the
postpartum period. The Obstetrics team—comprising experienced midwives, doctors, and specially trained nursing staff and physical therapists—will support you throughout this time with personalized, expert, and compassionate care.
Medical supervision is provided by Chief Physician Rolf Oliver Fietz, who works closely with the midwives under the
leadership of Katrin Hermannspann. During childbirth, you can fully rely on the help and support of our
midwives, who are available around the clock in the delivery room to ensure your well-being.
Well-Advised
It is important to us to support you throughout this entire period with a wide range of counseling and consultation services,
so that you always have the opportunity to contact us with any questions. Key areas of our counseling include prenatal diagnostics and our birth planning consultation. A great first step is attending one of our
monthly information evenings, which include a tour of the delivery room, where you can get a feel for the options and facilities in our
birthing area.
As a perinatal center, we also guarantee that a specialist is available at all times when needed. You can find more information

Midwife
Care You may wish to meet the midwife who will be caring for you during childbirth even before the birth. This offers the advantage of
allowing you to get to know each other well in person beforehand and to build a good rapport. It’s also possible to bring your
“own” midwife with you.
